Adapting to Change and Thinking Creatively

While change may not always be easy, it always serves as a new opportunity to learn and grow. The ability to remain flexible and generate new ideas are skills that can take a person far in life. I’m sure everyone has had experiences in life that have challenged them and brought unwanted change.

I feel that over the years, I have learned effective ways to handle change. Being able to accept change as a challenge and taking it on head-on results in the best outcomes.

changes    Throughout college I have learned that college’s last name is change. Everything is constantly changing, be it people or places or certain situations. Being able to adapt to change is a big sign of growth. Life is constantly going to have things that don’t necessarily go as planned. I see situations like that as a chance to learn more about yourself as a person. Big changes require a person to think on their toes and have good control over their emotions. Two qualities that can help a person as they experience change in the future.

The LEAD Office has definitely taken thinking creatively to a whole new level. There is constantly a meeting to be planned or activities to be picked or what have you, going on in the office. I think my fellow LC’s and I have done a pretty good job over the past two years at thinking of new activities that we can do with the L-Team or with the kids at Hampton Middle School. Leadership is constantly changing and growing and I feel like it is the role of an  LC to keep up with those changes and think of fresh new things to do in order to teach others about Leadership. It is also important to make Leadership exciting for others to learn about. I think we all have a love for Leadership because we work in the LEAD Office and we have learned more about ourselves as leaders but we also have to think of ways to make others love learning about leadership as much as we do.
